Spent an afternoon at the EPS workshop on biosynthesis of natural products, organised by Esteban Charria Girón, Barbara Terlouw, Joelle Mergola-Greef and David Meijer.
We worked through different chemistries — Type I PKS, Type I NRPS, RiPPs and terpenes. Hands-on PKS/NRPS session with Barbara was the highlight for me!

The other highlight was Esteban’s SpecReBoot (preprint): bootstraps meet molecular networking. A quite elegant, phylogeny-inspired solution to the problem of reliable connections between nodes ;)
